Camping Season Has Arrived in the Kootenays!

‘Tis the season! Camping season, that is! Outdoors, sunshine, lakes, rivers, delicious mountain views, campfires and the best sleeps all year, just waiting for us to come and enjoy. Whether in an RV or backpacking with tent in tow, it’s time to get out camping!

And there’s no place like the Kootenays for not only the best in outdoor wonders, but the best in campgrounds and facilities anywhere. The best escape! Boasting three mountains ranges, the Monashees, Selkirks and the Purcells, the choices are seemingly endless and can easily provide you a summer to remember.

The Kootenays are a place where peace and quiet set the tone and, of course, fun is just around the corner. With camp set there will be so much to explore, from alpine meadows, mountain peaks and sandy beaches to nearby hot springs, historic sites and picturesque small towns. How about golf, hiking, mountain biking, boating? Check. Check. Check. And, check! And that’s just the beginning!

Martha Creek, Blanket Creek, Arrow Lakes (Shelter Bay Site), McDonald Creek, Davis Creek & Lost Ledge, Kokanee Creek, Summit Lake and Rosebery Provincial Parks, along with the Wadey Forest Recreation Site, just to name a few, all present beautiful opportunities to experience this beautiful little corner of the world. Mountain peaks will greet you with the sunrise as you’re lulled to sleep by the lake lapping the shore or the babble of a nearby creek.
