Completed Web Project Helps Local Businesses Reach New Markets

Kootenay and Boundary region businesses are gaining greater exposure and expanding their reach overseas thanks to the Imagine Kootenay’s new live feed into B.C.’s main trade and investment website, www.britishcolumbia.ca.

This website aggregates thousands of trade and investment opportunities available in B.C. creating a single window for overseas investors looking for their next opportunity. After recently completing a web project with the Ministry of International Trade, Imagine Kootenay’s business listings now automatically feed into this website too.

The Imagine Kootenay partners are excited by the completion of this project, the support and contributions received from Trade and Invest BC, and the expansion of our program’s reach into new national and international markets,” says Terry Van Horn, IK Steering Committee Chair and Trail, Rossland & Area representative. “This opens the door to attract new investors to the region and expand the reach of Kootenay businesses looking for the right investor.”

For businesses for sale listed on the IK website, this means significantly enhanced exposure and expanded reach into new markets, showcasing the variety of great business opportunities available throughout the Kootenay and Boundary region.

British Columbia has one of North America’s most competitive, flexible and supportive business climates. Providing services to assist potential investors, domestic and international, Trade and Invest British Columbia helps identify the best locations for investment and business throughout the province and is a main point of contact to explore business location and expansion opportunities in British Columbia. They also help British Columbia businesses contact potential buyers, investors, and other key partners in global markets.

“Our region has business opportunities that match our outstanding quality of life in the Kootenays,” says Van Horn. “Our communities are safe and vibrant, and sit among spectacular landscapes with world-class outdoor recreation just beyond our doorsteps.”

This lifestyle – combined with a dynamic, educated and diverse labour pool, a resilient and growing economy and a business friendly culture with low taxes and business incentives – makes the case for buying, starting or bringing business to British Columbia and the Kootenay region a very strong one.
