If you want to ski or snowboard this winter without breaking the bank, you might want to come to the Kootenays.
HomeToGo recently released its 2018 Ski Price Index, which ranks the 50 best ski resorts in North America based on affordability. The rankings take into account the cost of a lift tickets, ski rentals, lunch and accommodations.
Fernie Alpine Resort was ranked the No. 1 most affordable ski resort in North America. The relatively low cost of lunch and accommodations in Fernie helped push it to the top of the rankings. The total cost for a day on the slopes and a night of accommodations in Fernie should set you back $178.14 USD.
Another Kootenay ski resort wasn’t far behind. Ranking No. 5 on the list of affordability is Panorama Mountain Resort near Invermere, where you can ski and stay for $181.57 USD.
