Fernie Company Making Cabins for Investors in the Glamping Market

Media Release~

The Little Cabin Company has been established in Fernie BC to manufacture little cabins targeting the glamping market.

The unique cabins have been designed and built to current BC and Canadian National Building Code standards and are highly insulated to keep them warm in the winter but cool in the hot summer sun.

The first model to be released has been named “The Cobby”. The single room cabins are perfect for a unique “glamping” option for campgrounds and are ideal for an office space, a home studio, spare bedroom or meeting space. Retailing at $24,995 + tax, The Cobby comes equipped with low voltage dimmable recessed lighting, two internal electric sockets with usb ports, double glazed windows, tongue and groove Douglas Fir flooring, cedar siding, and an external power socket. For power The Cobby plugs directly into a standard power supply and can also be supplied with solar power as an off-grid option.

Rachel Cline, President of The Little Cabin Company said, “The cabins offer a unique opportunity for people to access higher levels of income.

“We see a huge opportunity for campgrounds and resorts, or individuals with an acreage to use our cabins as a unique luxury accommodation option for people that want a connection with the great outdoors, but still yearn for some home comforts. The design certainly lends itself to “glamping”.”

Glamping offers higher levels of revenue than RV resorts or campgrounds currently have access to and the growth in the sector is rapid.

Cline continues, “There is a vast market of people willing to spend upwards of $120 per night for glamping and as such initial investments can be recouped very rapidly. We have an out of the box solution for people wanting to enter the market including information on site design, planning and zoning requirements, sales and marketing, how to add value to the overnight experience and operational guidelines. It means people can set up and access income quickly and easily.”

The Little Cabin Company is currently working on additional options and extensions to the range including cabins with bathroom facilities as well as various different sizing options.

The Little Cabin Company has a partnership with East Kootenay Community Credit Union offering a finance option for customers in order to spread payments over five years.
