Big Mountain adventure and culture dominate the landscapes of Golden and Revelstoke. The Northern Basin is situated among the Monashee, Selkirk, Columbia and Rocky Mountain Ranges. With a total of seven National Paks adventure is around every corner. Here you can challenge your legs on Revy’s Last Spike North America’s longest ski run at 15.2 kms and dine at the highest elevation restaurant in Canada (7700ft), the Eagle’s Eye at Kicking Horse.

Sustainable Industry

Key economic sectors including hydroelectric power generation, forestry, tourism, transport, construction and small scale manufacturing. Rail and hydropower continue to serve as stable pillars in Revelstoke’s economic landscape. The forestry sector is currently in a period of transition, developing innovative practices in the value added sector. Edison Motors is a privately owned Canadian Clean Technology Company and Canada’s first Production Electric Hybrid Truck. 

Creative Community

The communities of Golden and Revelstoke have a broad variety of cultural programming, arts education, historical and rail museums Arts Revelstoke will have you dancing in the street every evening throughout July and August with REVY.Live Outside Featuring artists from around the world, BC and Canada. Kicking Horse Culture in Golden hosts the Art Gallery of Golden and a lively series of performance events. Here Summer Kicks and Ember Fest bring the valley gather together in Spirit Square to celebrate community and creativity.

Strategic Location

The economy in both Golden and Revelstoke areas has long been tied to the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPKC) and their strategic locations on the Trans-Canada Highway, making transportation and warehousing important economic activities. Regional airports in Golden (CYGE) and Revelstoke (CYRV) primarily for general aviation, heli-skiing and tourism charters and air ambulance services.
