Emco Engineering
Ron Ross brought his skis with him when he came to the West Kootenay area to do some engineering contract work in 1973. Drawn by abundant recreational opportunities and opportunities in the field of engineering, Mr. Ross made the decision to move to Castlegar with his young family. Emco Engineering was established in 1975 and Castlegar was the chosen location due to the availability of housing, recreational opportunities, central location, and the city’s family friendly environment. Thirty years later, Emco Engineering continues to prosper with 15 employees living in the Kootenays, and branch offices in the Okanagan, Abbotsford and Burnaby.
