Canada BC Job Grant

Canada BC Job Grant

The BC Chamber is continuing to drive solutions to B.C.’s skills gap challenge.

What is the Canada BC Job Grant?

The Canada BC Job Grant is a cost sharing program that helps employers off set the cost of training for new or current employees. The grant helps British Columbians gain the skills they need to fill available jobs and helps employers invest in their work forces, equipping workers with the training necessary to make their businesses succeed.

The BC Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that it will be working on the new Canada Job Grant Pilot Program being led by B.C.’s Ministry of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training . Employers can receive up to two-thirds of the cost of training for current and future employees, to a maximum government contribution of $10,000 per grant; employers must contribute the remaining one-third.

The BC Chamber and the Trail & District Chamber of Commerce views this program as a great opportunity to help address the skills-training needs for all employers and employees across the province.

The BC Chamber is also continuing to deliver the successful Micro Business Training (MBT) Program through Canada Job Grant funding.

The BC Chamber’s MBT program has already helped more than 2,000 small business owners across the province with more than $4 million in skills training funding.
