Nelson Walking Tours is a first year startup that has potential for a successful, small business that is a whole lot of fun. According to recent research, 93% of Nelson tourists are Canadians. And the number one reason they come is for sightseeing, especially downtown. So this could easily be the number one tourist activity in Nelson with more effort than I was able to put into it.
That said, I do have infrastructure to offer. I have a scripted historic walking tour and professionally developed marketing materials.
We are on Viator, TripAdvisor and Get Your Guide. Our website will be finished by the end of the month and we will have added a food and beer tour for the ski season tourists. The next tour to add will be a food and wine tour. These tours also include stories while the participants wait for their food.
The historic walking tours are only during the warm months. There’s also a potential for adding a summer ghost tour.
