Gordon Grieves of VMS Group decided to return to Castlegar after receiving trades and apprenticeship training in the Lower Mainland. Having owned a few businesses prior to VMS Group, Gordon was drawn back to the area by opportunity and the family-friendly nature of the community. Community Futures and Kootenay Savings Credit Union provided early support in making this investment a reality and a strong reputation has ensured continued growth overtime. Now with over 60 employees, three businesses (Venture Mechanical Systems, Ltd., VMS Technical, Ltd., and VMS Steel Ltd.) in the East and West Kootenay regions, and strong ties to other contractors and businesses in the area, VMS Group continues to prosper.
