I transferred to Trail through my work at Fortis BC, but the appeal was so much more than just a great job. As a young couple looking to start a family, my wife and I knew the West Kootenay was right for us. We want our kids to grow up with a real sense of community, and we know the incredible nature surrounding us will keep them active and healthy. Baseball in the spring, camping in the summer, hunting in the fall, skiing in the winter – the region really has it all right there for you. The money we were saving for a down payment in Vancouver got us a beautiful acreage and halfway towards building our dream home from the ground up. Life feels safer here, and with my commute time cut in half, I’ll have more time to spend with my family. It really is the perfect place for young families looking to build the life of their dreams.
