A visit to North Woven Broom offers you a step back in time. Visitors to the shop in the old log barn can watch while broom-makers Rob and Janet Schwieger carefully weave handcrafted brooms using antique broom-making equipment – producing beautiful and practical corn brooms. The brooms are constructed with care and attention, ensuring a long lasting, high quality broom. Every broom is unique and will last much longer than an ordinary corn broom.

The brooms have been used in the marketing of the Harry Potter books, have appeared in many movies including Bewitched, as well as live performances throughout Canada and the United States.

Rob and Janet moved to the Kootenays about 35 years ago because it was so beautiful. “There’s no better place than Kootenay Lake,” says Rob.
